I really enjoy writing, directing and producing entertainment. I’m very thankful for the indie feature films Tim “Timbo” Beachum and I have been able to produce and find meaningful movie distribution for under the Slice of Americana Films banner.
I’ve met great people in front of the camera and behind the camera. Sure, I’ve met my share of less than nice people like in any business. You deal with them and keep your respect and earn some too.
The world of entertainment is a journey I never really thought I would ever be on. They say you never forget your first and America’s Wildest Bachelor Parties was my first.
America’s Wildest Bachelor Parties is a racy reality show franchise that launched Slice of Americana Films. There are some that will not like the content, but others that do. It is where we made money, so I will always have a tie to this reality program series.
From time to time I get an email that I’m not a real filmmaker because of America’s Wildest Bachelor Parties. I look at things as entertainment since this is the business we are in.
America’s Wildest Bachelor Parties allowed Slice of Americana Films to make movies we wanted to make. It opened a door to the entertainment business that was closed for us until we made people money off a small investment. Good rate of return.
It’s a tough sell to go to serious film investors and ask them to invest money when you have no track record of ever selling a movie that made money. Why invest in a person or group that has never made anyone money? I learned that fast.
I’m a screenwriter at heart and for me every creative thing starts there on the page. It was a switch to put aside my screenwriting mind and think strictly entertainment business.
The money investors of America’s Wildest Bachelor Parties were not interested in vision and storytelling or making a profound artistic statement.
They wanted a product that would sell and make them money. Real investors always want to make money. They are never donators. They invest to make money.
Being able to adjust and read things clearly gets things done. I was pitching a movie and they were not listening. So, I read the room and adjusted my pitch to America’s Wildest Bachelor Parties.
Reality TV looks like the biggest export from the United States right now. Why go against the flow? Slice of Americana Films decided it was time for America’s Wildest Bachelor Parties to return.
Through indie cinema fate we had ended up coproducing a feature film titled Psoro that is shocking mental horror and bloody gore with UK based filmmaker Wayne Daniells (LiarDice Films) and SFX guru Paul While the brilliant mind behind Graphic Delusions: Make-up & Prosthetics Creations (SFX), London, United Kingdom.
Wayne” UK Diablo” Daniells and Tim “Timbo” Beachum (Slice of Americana Films) liked the creative vibe and we decided to throw in together with LiarDica Films on an erotic cinema series titled Retro-Tica! and to change America’s Wildest Bachelor Parties to America’s Ultimate Stag Parties for a more international market appeal.
We’re currently in post on Retro-Tica! We are also staying true to our roots of indie by promoting erotic authors books at the end credits. We feel it’s the same audience and why not help promote talented erotica writers best we can.
In no way as filmmakers do we think this takes away from any other entertainment projects we’re working on.
