Erotica Entertainment, Erotic Romance Novels and Erotic Poems
Erotica entertainment, erotic romance novels and erotic poems are rising in popularity with viewers and readers that want to be seduced visually or mentally.
I remember a conversation with a friend where they told me erotica really just meant pornography.
I have nothing against the adult entertainment industry at all, producers, directors and talent make more money than a lot of indie filmmakers do.
It is strictly a paying business; they don’t only offer meals, copy and credit like happens many times in the indie film scene. They pay the people involved money for their services.
The industry has been way ahead of the technology curve when it comes to marketing and distribution.
Hollywood studios have borrowed methods launched by adult entertainment studios when it came to how to use the Internet to market and distribute.
I could lie and say I’ve never watched a porno in my life. I’ve watched porno before and have been to strip clubs.
Adult entertainment is just something I wouldn’t produce or direct. I’ve been asked a few times and passed on it. Not on any moral stance, but because that’s not me as a producer or director. I know my creative limits as filmmaker. It’s a different entertainment scene that has its own unique production problems I don’t want to deal with.
Erotica entertainment, erotic romance novels and erotic poems in my opinion are not pornography. As a filmmaker I will include erotic scenes in movies if it fits the story. There have been different reactions to showing nudity in two crime movies that have my name branded on them.
I don’t know about you, but after I have sex I’ve never had a sexual partner grab a sheet or blanket off the bed to cover up to go the restroom or get dressed.
We’ve already been intimate as people can be; being shy about being naked has gone out the window at this point. I don’t make PG-13 movies so there is more flexibility in what can be shown as far as love scenes and nudity.
R rated movies that show soap opera love scenes when they want to tell a passionate story are for the birds. Look at the sex scene in Monster’s Ball between Billy Bob Thornton and Halle Berry. That fit the powerful story being told perfectly. Take a minute to imagine a PG-13 version of that same scene.
Fantasy Striptease Private Shows was produced as pure erotica entertainment (no dialogue or cutaways to somebody watching) to showcase sexy pin-up girls from your dreams on screen. Six beautifully filmed vignettes blur the line between reality and fantasy.
This is all done visually for viewers. What is creatively amazing to me is the ability of erotic romance novel authors and erotic poets to engage readers using words.
Each creative endeavor has its own way to move from idea to finished product. I’ve been impressed with a talented mix of erotic romance novelists and poets from following them on Twitter.
This is a social networking age and two I hope you will follow on Twitter @edenbaylee @khajj and @WritingGirlie along with others that are creating erotic entertainment. It was refreshing to see that the erotic genre in writing continues to grow in popularity with readers.
It shows that people want contemporary erotic stories and poems that are sexy, seductive and don’t have PG-13 censored language about real life romance that can be mind-blowing.
Contemporary erotic romance authors like Eden Baylee and poets are inspiring indie filmmakers to not be afraid to take risks. Self-censorship kills the creative vibe. Being afraid to share your creative vision is no way to create movies, novels or poems.
Sure, if you’re being paid to write, produce or direct a project by an outside party odds are that you’re going to have creative boundaries.
It’s a work for hire gig and you will have to hold back some of your fiery and sexy erotic ideas if you want to pay your bills.
When you’re producing and distributing erotica entertainment, erotic romance novels and erotic poems by your own resources let your creative soul guide you. I continue to learn this lesson and improve as I balance freelance writing gigs, indie filmmaking and working on my first novel Crazy Love Story. This is indie filmmaker Sid Kali typing FADE OUT
