The Simple Pleasure of Writing and Producing Indie Entertainment
The Simple Pleasure of Writing and Producing Indie Entertainment
It is easy to get lost in the business side of writing and producing indie entertainment neglecting the raw simple pleasure of writing and producing entertainment because you have creative fire to do so.
I have worked with many different types of creative souls that do what they do out of pure love and on the other side there are strictly business people that expect to earn money from a project.
It does cut both ways as far as my creative travels have taken me.
You can lose that simple pleasure of writing and producing entertainment when you focus too much on the financial side of things.
Most writers and indie producers cannot afford to work for free, but there still has to be a form of pleasure in writing or producing entertainment.
If you fund your own project with your own money and take time to write on your own time there is a certain freedom where you do not have to be under the thumb of film investors always expecting money.
On the other side of the coin if you take film investor money and not crowd funding donations to write or produce there will always be that rub between being creative and fiscally accountable for money from film investors.
Bottom-line is to enjoy the simple pleasure you get from writing and producing entertainment anyway you make it. Best with your creative journey. This is indie filmmaker Sid Kali typing FADE TO BLACK
