Psoro Mental Horror and Bloody Gore – Be Part of It

Appear in Psoro. We are casting for scream queen role and cameos.

Information at bottom of this post.

Psoro Film Poster

Psoro (Itch) mental horror and bloody gore is a dark twisted indie film that is being produced with real FX gore creations. We want to offer movie viewers that love 80s and 90s style gore FX something different than just CGI. During post production our goal is to use only 1-2% of CGI. Visual artist Paul While (Graphic Delusions) got his hands dirty creating real FX gore and prosthetics for the movie Psoro that were shot on location. Horror fans that love bloody gore will be pleased.

The idea for Psoro came from UK filmmaker Wayne Daniells (LiarDice Productions). It’s an extreme take on psoriasis skin condition that millions of people suffer from. This being mental horror gore we had to push it to the entertainment limits by creating a story that will prey on phobias and fears. The tagline for Psoro is “Don’t Scratch It…It Will Tear You Apart!”

As one of the screenwriters and producers I admit after hearing the real story behind the movie idea I did freak out if I got an itch. The power of suggestion can run amok in the mind when it comes to something as simple as dry itchy skin. Think how many of us scratch an itch daily. We took it a step further moving beyond physical scratching to mental itches that never go away. Let’s call them personal addictions and demons.

Psoro Behind the Scenes

Psoro the story of an unfortunate junkie that ends up injecting a nasty fix of heroin sold by a demonic drug dealer that leads to incessant scratching and much worse. With the movie idea locked it was time to bang out a screenplay that we could produce on an in-house budget that was visually badass with real FX.

I wasn’t worried about writing bloody gore scenes into the screenplay. We agreed that we wanted to give viewers plenty of that. Psoro isn’t a slasher type of movie despite wicked graphic scenes, so it gave me a golden opportunity as a screenwriter to scratch below the surface to reach mental horror.

Scenes without blood and gore FX I wanted zero in on writing elements into the script that would hit the mental horror button of viewers. In no way is this a talking head movie, but writing scenes that had a dark feel to them without FX really added to build up of scenes where uncensored gore is unleashed. Mental horror was foreplay for every money shot with real FX.

Once the Psoro screenplay was completed we moved forward to casting our lead and demonic drug dealer. Actor Lucas Hansen (The Human Centipede II) was cast as the lead in Psoro. Getting fitted for prosthetics and sitting in a make-up chair for hours takes a dedicated actor. Lucas is not shy about taking on intense roles. The Human Centipede II is banned in the UK by the British Board of Film Classification.

Actor Edd Muruako (Bloodless) was cast as demonic drug dealer. They both brought intensity to their roles. Edd’s character has a very distinct look that required a transformation using the talents of visual artist Paul While. Acting newcomer Celeste Webb was cast in her first role. It wasn’t a walk in the park considering the physical demands and make-up that had to be applied. These roles weren’t for delicate actors.

Psoro Behind the Scenes Needle

The UK filming part of Psoro wrapped. There could be a couple of pick-up shots needed or b-roll stuff, but now focus moves to the scream queen scenes that will be filmed in Southern California and cameo scenes from different parts of the world. Scream queen casting continues and we have more cameo parts we want to line up. I’ve already put Psoro associate producer Tim “Timbo” Beachum (Slice of Americana Films) on the spot to shoot a cameo in Virginia Beach shortly.

One cameo is already being shot in Tirana, Albania by Gjergji Cicani aka Albanian George Loco. Please follow him on Twitter @Gjergj_Cicani he’s our connection to the entertainment scene in Albania. Social networking using Twitter has been a big marketing boost for Psoro with help of good people like George. We want to continue that positive mojo.
