The people I work regularly with have a passion for creativity and indie entertainment production. We all have open minds to new creative business ventures.
I personally dabble in other business areas outside of indie movie production. Expanding outside of the entertainment industry has introduced me to some really sharp and interesting people in real estate development.

Producing indie entertainment is not an easy gig to make serious money in. Many indie producers are happy to just break even and make back their investor’s money with a small profit.
Slice of Americana Films has been fortunate to secure meaningful distribution deals that have put money in our pockets from our creative work.
I have personally been lucky to have been involved in different real estate development projects that have made money.
The one thing with producing indie entertainment and developing real estate is it takes time to get paid. The wheels move very slow.
It never moves as fast as you want. The recent real estate deal I was involved in took 2 years to get planning commission and city council approval, and then we had to wait for escrow to close with the home builder the project was sold to.
Movie distribution takes time to pay royalty payments quarterly. There is no quick turnaround of money to indie movie producers.
It is always hurry up and wait to get paid. It is a tough grind in both areas of business.
Like all of us cash flow is important. I am personally not good at budgeting personal finances. I spend it as fast I make it to be honest.
Then a cool thing happened. I was talking to a new business partner about making money while you are sleeping.
We hashed out a solid idea for a California Corp called Wonderful You! Organic Personal Care Bliss. We trademarked this organic health and beauty line.
It is exciting because I know very talented graphics people, movie editors, actors and filmmakers that deliver that cool indie filmmaking vibe to our marketing campaign.
We do not have to hire an expensive big shot PR firm to create the Wonderful You! Organic Personal Care Bliss marketing push to shoot our videos or create graphics. We have that covered in-house.
Indie entertainment creative souls are best in business on working with in a budget and creating gold.
Indie producers also have a great handle on product placement. Which we will be doing to promote Wonderful You! Organic Personal Care Bliss in a series of feature films and other entertainment we currently have in post-production.
I always liked what BMW did with their film run to market their cars. We are applying indie entertainment production mindset to marketing Wonderful You! Organic Personal Care Bliss.
We are currently developing three USDA ORGANIC CERT products for the marketplace.
Nothing in life is easy. The roadblocks we have encountered seem to be we have not track record in the health and beauty market.
I get that. It is like a filmmaker that has never made a movie that has sold or a real estate developer that has never closed escrow.
I have contacted numerous blending and packaging companies feeling the cold shoulder when talking to them. It is a new arena of business for me.
This blog is always raw and honest. I do not appreciate that blenders and packers seem to string us along then do not reply.
No way to do business in any business. Direct email I sent to one blender and packer that never got back to me after conversations we had and sent them samples of products.
this company I won’t put out there, but I think this was fair on my part.
I like to shoot straight in all things business.
Please let me know now if you have no interest in this health and beauty line as our blender and packer.
We are funded, but silence makes me nervous. If I have to go to another company let me know.
We are already shooting commercials before we have product.
